Anti-Scratch PP compounds
PP compounds have weaknesses in some mechanical properties such as low impact and stratch resistance which limits their application in production of interior automotive parts such as dashboard covering, door panels and console box liner. To overcome these challenges, a specialized compound with trade name NovinSpec® is developed to enhance scratch resistance significantly, alongside other properties such as modulus and impact resistance. The exclusive impact resistance of 20 kJ/m¬2, and enhanced scratch resistance make it possible for this compound to pass all required standard tests for automotive and home appliance industries.
High-Performance ABS compounds
ABS copolymer is limited to use because of its lower mechanical and thermal properties compared to other engineering plastics. Also, glass fiber reinforced ABS (GFR-ABS) composites are narrowed down to a few applications and processes, because of their high cost, corrosion of production machines while processing, environmental problems and low impact resistance. To overcome the mentioned challenges, a specialized compound with trade name NovinSpec® is developed which is filled with special mineral fillers. This compound will enhance strength, modulus and scratch resistance of the final product while maintaining impact resistance, thus making it a good substitute for ABS, and GFR-ABS composites.
